Every writer has a story.

This one is mine.

When I was 6 years old, someone pushed me over in the playground, so I stopped talking to my peers and buried my nose in books instead.

Okay, that was a total lie.

The truth is much simpler: I've loved reading for as long as I can remember.

Reading naturally turned into writing, and writing eventually turned into an obsession with storytelling itself. Whenever I came across something exceptionally well-written, I wanted to know why it worked. Why did one book keep me reading until 2 a.m., while another had me DNF-ing by chapter three?

That curiosity eventually led me to ghostwriting on Fiverr, where my 8th client pulled me off the platform entirely. We ended up writing 43 books together over four and a half years.

My role was a two-parter: I wrote the story, then went back through it as my own developmental editor, checking the structure, pacing, character logic, everything.

The 3,000-word daily deadlines and endless rereading eventually took a toll on me, and I left. I pivoted into tech and landed in cybersecurity.

But even after I left ghostwriting, my old client kept coming back for help with her manuscripts. We'd always worked well together, so I never minded. She also sent her friends my way; other writers who wanted a second eye on their own books.

I found it a welcome respite from staring at code all day. That's when I realized something unexpected.

I enjoyed taking stories apart even more than writing them.

Helping a writer untangle a plot problem or finally understand why a scene wasn't working was far more rewarding than writing the scene myself.

Finding what's wrong, understanding why, and knowing what to do about it is where I've always been sharpest.

Studio Marginalia grew out of that epiphany.

It exists because I believe writers deserve feedback that goes beyond "I liked it" or "This didn't work for me." If something isn't working, I'll explain why. If something is working, I'll explain that too, because understanding your strengths is just as important as identifying your blind spots.

I'm not here to turn your story into a bastardized version of itself.
I'm here to help you tell it better.
